FEDERAL CRIMES

Charges brought by the U.S. Attorney's Office

The federal government has the authority to charge you with many of the same types of criminal charges that the state can charge you with. They can even bring a federal charge against you for the same criminal act that the state has already charged you for.

While there are some similarities between the federal and state criminal system, there are also many differences. Not only are the laws distinct, but the rules of court and legal procedure are not exactly the same. That’s why it’s important to have an attorney that has a strong understanding of the federal court system. It is imperative that you retain a lawyer that has handled a significant number of federal cases in the past and has federal trial experience.

If you have been charged with or are being investigated for a federal crime, contact the Ford Law Office for a free consultation to discuss your case.
